DESCRIPTION:
This is a limited-enrollment, competitive-entry international seminar. It is an academic course that connects students, faculty, and professionals in England and Canada; it does not provide an observational or service-learning experience.
We will be reading, discussing, writing, and hearing from practioners.
The travel component of the seminar enhances our opportunity to consider institutional differences and similarities in matters relating to childhood and youth. For 2016, the emphasis will be on primary education and early childhood. Students will write a journal that provides analysis of the readings, discussions, and presentations.
Our days in England will be organized and led by faculty at Winchester University. While at Kings, our typical day will include a visit to a local school or program for children in the mornings and a discussion session in the afternoon. For details see the course schedule.

Journal Analysis: 50%
